Hiya all

I regularly write complex reports and integrity is very important i.e. I don't want someone changing my work after I have emailed it to them.

Can anyone suggest a simple solution to allow me to create PDF documents from Word?

Any suggestions gratefully received

Love

Your best bet is probably PDFCreator - you can't save directly to a PDF file, but you can "print" the document to a PDF file instead:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

The exact URL is here:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/p...se_mirror=kent

Just install that and it will add the virtual printer, when you print using it you just select the location to save the file in.

Thanks Ian

Can I just ask a question to help me understand your reply?

What I want to do is convert my Word file(s) to PDF and then email the said document to the recipients. Will your suggestion do the trick?

My main objective is to create a document that cannot be tampered with so that I have control over the content of the work.

Many thanks for your reply

Yup, that application will do it If you download it, you simply "print" the file as you would to a normal printer, only this special driver actually saves the document to a PDF file rather than creating a physical printed copy. There isn't a cheap/free way that I know of to "save as" directly, but this method works really well

Give it a go and I'm sure you'll see what I mean

Gabs ... go get OpenOffice 2, it free, it exports to .pdf

I'm not grouchy by nature, it takes constant effort.
