I have outlook, 2003. recently my email coverts messages, url etc to plain
text. This means I cannot click on the link to the url.
How do I change this process which is a recent event.

Tools | Options | E-mail...you should find the setting in there (or perhaps
on one of the sub-dialogs, I don't recall specifically)
