Running Windows XP Home Edition
I receive the following error message at the login screen after booting
Object Name already exists
This does not occur when the login screen appears after logging off. I click ok, and everything seems to work fine. I can log in and run all the programs
Secondly, windows keeps asking to be activated. Clicking on the activation icon gives me the following notification
Windows is already activated. Click OK to exit
After rebooting, windows once again asks to be activated. This may be tied to the Object Name error. Will Windows stop working in 30 days, or just stop asking for the activation
Background
The computer's original motherboard went bad so I replaced it. The IDE controller on the new board is VIA while the old one was Intel. This caused a 7B Stop error whereby windows could not boot. I was fixing the for a friend so I didn't have the original install CDs. I did have another WinXP Home CD that came with my laptop however. I didn't think this CD would allow my to do a reinstall on the Desktop computer, but to my suprise it did. Everything is up and running except for those two errors. I'd hate to return the computer and have it stop working in 30 days
Any help is appreciated
