FYI Since this is a freeware site, I will commence on the Spyware
Doctor freeware, which comes in two varieties. Now if i just plunk
down "Spyware Doctor" on my browser I will get a nice looking site
which peddles a very useless product. The freeware Spy Doc which
comes there reveals all your problems and then tells you, in effect,
buy a solution. Give us bucks. The solution is disabled.
There is another version offered by the Google Pack which is very
decent. The Spyware Doc which is getting all the plaudits is the
commercial version--you give them bucks. It is indeed very
excellent. Now you can also get the Google Pack and in it is offered
Spyware Doc. it is very slightly disabled. But it is still able in a
lot of areas. Spyware Doc from Google Pack scans in real time and
will do an on demand scan, a smart scan and a deep scan, and when it
reveals problems, it will sweep them away. It will quarantine them if
you like, or fix them. All for free. I got it and then deleted the
Google Updater which was the way i got it--you have to go through
Google Updater which downloads it. Now it works fine and is no
bloatware. I highly commend the Spyyware Dooctor freeware from Google
Pack. Just remember to delete the Google Updater if you want to.
More FYI the company PC Tools is very pleasant to work with,
very easy for less experienced persons (me!). I have now, annd am
using their firewall, which installed very ewasily, and have had, in
the past threat Fire, their viirus scan. I would have kept that
except that I liked AVG scan better. Everything from PC Tools is easy
to use and pretty effective.
