I used check marks in a spreadsheet. Some of the cells have a pattern
(yellow) to as an identifier. I need to be able to count the number of cells
that have the yellow pattern. I used the formula =COUNTA(RANGE) which adds
all the nonblank cells in the column, but now I need to isolate the cells in
the specific row that have the yellow pattern.

Please advise.

I'm afraid formulas don't recognize formats/colors. You'll either need to
provide the criteria by which a cell is colored (and base a formula off of
that) or look into using VBA which CAN check cell formatting.
