Couldn't open file C:\Documents ...error when editing localhost

I posted this a few minutes ago but it didn't appear in
the list.

Lately while editing our localhost, I've been getting an
error message reading:

"Couldn't open file C:\Documents and Settings\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\FrontPageTempDir\761d414a.htm."

I close the error window and another similar
filenamenumber.htm takes its place. This dance continues
for 6 or more file names. I shut down FP and reopen and
everything is fine for a while.

When I look in Temporary Internet Files there is no
\FrontPageTempDir\.
However there is a folder named FrontPageTempDir in
C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Temp but it has
nothing in it.

It seems to have something to do with the number of pages
I have open. Sometimes it's only after I've edited about 6
pages.

It appears also that it's related to FP2003 in combination
with my new clean install of XP Pro (on a RAID-1). I just
switched from XP Home to XP Pro. I've used FP for several
years (versions) and never had this problem.

Today I did a clean install of FrontPage 2003 which puts
FP in C:\Program Files\microsoft office -and within about
six pages it brought up the same "can't... " error message.

I've looked in:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local
Settings\Temp\FrontPageTempDir (which as I mention is
always empty)
and,
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application
Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache (After this
morning's error message I looked in \Cache and it only had
6 files, which I deleted)

I have also deleted, via IE's Tools>Internet
Options>Temporary Internet Files>, both "Delete files"
and "Delete cookies."

A search for 761d414a.htm (hidden files) brings up nothing

I have 1.00 GB of RAM.

I have My Webs (the folder that contains all 15 of our
local webs/subwebs)located at C:\My Webs\webnames. I like
it this way because it allows me to quickly read the name
of the web more easily in the Folder List.

Got Solution?

Thanks,

Kerry

Your original post has appeared.

The problem is known, but there is no fix at the moment.

The FP2003 temporary files are here:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir

Type this path into the Windows Explorer address bar.

Yes, it's the right place to ask this question. When you asked it the other
day, an MVP answered it. Here's a little more info:

If all the pages with errors are using Shared Borders or Include pages, then
this is a known problem, with no fix at the moment.

To view the FrontPage 2003 temporary files type (or paste) the following
into the address bar in Windows Explorer:

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
