Is it possible to connect 2 pcs to one printer one via parallel and the
other USB to the same printer???

Yes it is possible. Many people do that.

I've heard otherwise, though...but never tried, so i can't say.
What happens when both computers try to print at the same time?

No I wouldn't be printing to the printer at the same time - just want to
share a printer with a pc and IBook - both Mac & pc are linked via crossover
cable to share internet & files - but can't seem to get the printers to
share so this is the other way of doing it?

Depends on printer, it has to support autoswitching between interfaces.

don't bother with two interfaces just make one machine the print server
