I someone would be so kind to look back in further
discussions with the title - Need Help with Memory Leaks -
that was first created on July 25. Replies have been added
on the 26th and I have added a new reply. I don't know if
I should do what this person - Carrie Garth is saying and
someone else I think writes all the way down at the bottom
of page : this may be a virus. Please someone respond. I
am not going to do or look up anything that person had to
say until I get some more feedback on that certain topic.

Hello
I am assuming that you have seen a pop-up that has said that your computer
is loosing memory and wanting you to download a program or even buy one. Do
Not Do This. You can check to see if you have a memory leak by right
clicking on a blank spot in your taskbar and then click Task Manager, look
in the Processes Tab you can adjust the View if you do not see Memory Usage
in one of the columns, look to see if you have a programs using an excessive
amount of memory 25,000+k.

Continue to keep your computer clean by removing the spyware. Here is a web
page put out by MS MVP's that will help.
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/slowcom.htm

Be sure to visit MS Windows Update site and download all the updates this is
for your security and safety.
www.windowsupdate.com

The thing most people do not know is that after they buy a computer with
virus protection installed they have to go in and register and download the
updates and continue to update it or set it to auto update then after a
period of time the subscription will run out usually in 90-180 days at that
time they will have to purchase new protection either online or from a
retail store and at that time they will be able to update for a period of
365 days (1 year).

If you do not have current virus protection here is a good free one,
download it and keep it updated.

I have looked in my task manager and have found the
following exactly the way it looks: IEXPLORER.EXE 27,556,
explorer.exe 9,560, YPager.exe 16,292, and khost 10,872.
These are the highest that I found.

Let Task Manager run for a while and see if one of these entries is slowly incrementing the amount of memory that's being used.

Hello
Ok
It looks like you have been infected with CoolWebSearch (aka CWS).
In your Task Manager you should see, iexplore.exe, not iexplorer.exe, notice
the difference, the (r) at the end.

Disable System Restore, this will erase all restore points from here back.
right click My Computer>Properties>System Restore tab>put a check in Turn
Off System Restore>OK. then restart computer.

Download, Update & Run these Spyware Removers and delete the quarantined
files then reboot and see if it is gone if not repost and we will have to do
it manually.
Spy Sweeper
http://www.spysweeper.com/download.html

CW Shredder
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

Bazooka
http://www.kephyr.com/spywarescanner/supportus.phtml

As for the YPager.exe that is your Yahoo Messenger Helper and will be
alright.

As for the khost.exe that will have to be removed also, you will need to run
a HiJack This log and post it here and wait for someone to review it and
tell you what to remove.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/foru...b&showforum=22
you will have to register to post, it's free.

HiJack This
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
Download & close all windows before running, save scanned log to your
Desktop or My Doc's then go to the saved file open it Copy & Paste it to the
link provided above.
