I bought Microsoft PC Game "Halo" this evening. I

I launch the game, it could not go to next screen (all I
hear some intro music).... the screen what i can saw was
a "Halo" logo only, the screen became freezed and
shining, what happen to this? Is it related to Direct X
9.0b. I download the Direct X 9.0b from home page of
microsoft and install it ... but it did not work.... can
anyone do me a favour tell me what happen, thanks a lot!

Check your graphics drivers, James. Also, make sure you're not running any
third-party anti-pop-up software.

Dear Chris,
I have updated the driver from Nvidia. But I
discovered that the actual problem was that I have to
turn off the "3D Antialiasing mode" from the control
panel of my GForce 4 Graphic Card. Now it works. Thanks!

Good for you, James. We'll have to file that one away for others who may
run into the same issue. Thanks for posting back with the information.

Cute. The same graphics company that supplies the hardware for MS' original
XBox has a driver issue with a port to the PC of Halo.

Meanwhile....guess what? I also have the PC version of Halo, but run with
an ATI AIW 9700 Pro and the latest Catalyst drivers (3.7).

I run @ 1280x1024/32-bit, with *everything* including AA turned on and have
no issues whatever.

System is a P4 2.4 *B* (no HT support!), 512 MB of DDR333, 80 GB WD Caviar
SE, XP Pro with SP1.

*smirking mode on*
