Could not load file error message

When I try to retrieve a gif or jpg file from within my Front Page web i.e.
from the Folder List I get a message "Could not load file" followed by the
location of the file. Yet when I go through Windows Explorer for the same
file in the same location it opens.

Can anyone explain this?

Thanks

Import the image into your web first, then place it into your design.

Perhaps I need to be more specific. I have already imported the pictures
into the web and they are already part of my design. The website itself,
however, is not yet live and rests on my PC in the design stage. I have
imported pictures from various sources and copied them into the
work-in-progress web. When I need to re-access these pictures I can get them
through the My Documents route, but not through the site itself via the
Folders Lists on FrontPage. When I try the latter option I get the error
message - Cannot load files. Yet the source of the files is the same.

Not sure if I have made this clear - please let me know if there is any
confusion.

Thanks again

Gareth

Are any of these file 1MB and over, if so, you will need to reduce them.

Are you saying that they do not exist in you Web's file structure, or that you can't open them even though they are there?

Rob

Many thanks for your efforts on my behalf. The files are there on the file
structure - I can see them on the Folder List of the web as well as on My
Documents. Not sure if this helps, but I recently upgraded from FronPage
2000 to 2002. Also I am unable to use the Preview function (from the
Normal/HTML/Preview) option. I get into the option, but cannot use the
buttons. I am on XP with SP2.

Thanks again

Gareth

Forget about your files in My Documents

If you have copied them into a FP web (other then using File Import or drag and drop w/ the FP site open), FP does not know they
exist in the site
- run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
Only use the images in your site and do not browse outside of your FP site

Stefan

I have just removed F/P 2002 and reverted to F/P 2000, where the web design
was originally made. I can now access all my images via the Folder List on
F/P i.e. "Cannot load files" message does not appear - all is fine. and the
Preview function works. It seems the issue is the upgrade to F/P 2002. Does
this make any sense to you? Surely F/P 2002 can read a web designed in F/P
2000.

Any ideas?

Gareth
