I am using Outlook 2003 on Windows XP SP3 and when I try to edit a
signature using the advanced edit option, I get the message in the
subject line. The signature format is html so I am baffled what this
might mean. Does anyone have any ideas please?

You must have Word 2003 installed to use Advanced Edit. If you don't, use
Outlook without selecting advanced edit to setup your signatures.
