Could not access CDO.Message object

Hi,

I get that error when I execute a send email with

System.Web.Mail.SmtpMail.Send

I have googled that I should inspect the innerexception object to get
more info. Which is fine.

I am wondering though if I should PING the server before I send
an email to make sure the server is avaliable???

Would this help stop exceptions if I only send if PING is OK?
