IMHO

It should be part of the Security Center (sic) on Windows XP SP 2.5...

Perhaps along with the forthcoming MS Anti Virus package!

I have to disagree with you, I hardly would call this
"Great". I say be weary of any beta, let alone one from
Microsoft.

"Spybot and AdAware will not be true competitors unless
they get a major upgrade. Most of the new spyware is not
detected or removed by them. Many of you are going to be
very surprised when you get a look at all the things on
your computer that the free scanners missed."

This Beta is free of charge yet you put down Spybot and AA
but you call Microsoft's Great? I franky like removing
spyware manually and then running one of those to remove
extra junk that doesn't really do much except for take up
space. So I say, do a search to remove what you are
infected with and remove manually and then run a scanner of
your choice.

M$ doesn't "compete" with free products. They don't need to have
anti-spyware working in order to sell Windows. It may be usable to sell
upgrades, but not neccessary to selling Windows. If they include it free,
are they just trying to put everyone else out? Spybot is developed by a
team of people who do the work in their free time and while it's a great
product, has it's flaws and one cannot readily complain to the people
donating their time.

What I'd like to see is the Anti-Spyware package included in the Pro
version of the software. Although this is unlikely, in a corporate
environment, this sort of thing is really needed yet difficult to manage.
It would give home users an incentive to upgrade.

(Damn, I should work in marketing.)

Just had to say "Hi" to my friend Lee. Good to see you are still around.
This winter is eating up my coal supply. Any chance of a shipment soon?
