Corrupted Recycle Bin

When attempting to delete any file(s) the error
message "The Recycle Bin on C:\ is corrupted. Do you
want to empty the Recycle Bin for this drive?" is
displayed. This apparently has been a recognized issue
in XP and was supposedly address with Service Pack 1.

I'm aready running SP1, and the Shell32.dll file as
explained in Knowledge BAse Article 297760 is more recent
than suggested. Any ideas? I can't figure this one
out . . .
