corrupted output

Hello all,

I have a Canon MV 550i DV camera. When I record video and
play it directly back through my TV it is fine.
When I play it back in moviemaker it shows 4 grey
randomly flashing patches in the picture (always in the
same place).
Finished movie projects replayed on the TV with the same
cable are also corrupted in this way, I also get
intermittent slow playback and reddish tinting in the
playback.
Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong?
