I'm trying to install XP Pro SP1 on a Soyo SY-P4I865PE Plus DRAGON 2 v1.0
with a 3.2G Intel Prescott cpu and 1g dual channel DDR. The bios has been
updated to support the cpu. The drive is a WD 120g EIDE that was running xp
on another pc with 3 partitions. I formatted the boot partition and
reinstalled xp. On install I get errors in the logs that the Catalog Database
(edb.log) is corrupt and being repaired. It appears to fix it, but from that
point on at reboot I get anywhere from none to 5 or 6 popups stating that 1
of the registry files has to be recovered from a log. From that point it all
begins to go downhill until it goes into a state where all it does is reboot
when it tries to start xp. Any suggestions? I've got the full event logs and
error messages saved.
