Corrupt WUTEMP

In order to install and keep critical updates, I need to
delete WUTEMP folder. However, when I attempt to do that,
it tells me that folder is corrupt and won't let me
delete it.

Any answer(s) other then reformat and reinstall will be
greatly appreciated. (Microsoft bulks at returning an
answer to me on this one, but made the suggestion to
delete that folder).

Thx

Perhaps it will delete in safe mode.

Hi

Try and rename that folder via a command prompt and then delete it. Failing
that try a deletion from Safe Mode.

I have done all of this but still can't delete it.
I have also managed to post in the thread just below this
one and I am sooo sorry...don't know how I did that?

Good thought and fast reply...thanks
However, same thing. I right click and check properties
and it shows zero bits in folder. But the message says,"
The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable".
Sigh...

I also tried right clicking and renaming folder to WUTold.
That works but when a new WUTEMP is created after
installing the two critical updates, that new folder is
empty and when I scan for updates, they are still there?

Drastic perhaps but if it isn't an NTFS volume, you could boot from a Dos (ugh) diskette and delete the file that way?
