I think your friend did more than replace Win32k.sys. If that file is
corrupt then Windows will not boot. However you may have some other file
problems. I would run the following.
SFC /purgecache
SFC /scannow
You will need to have your Windows CD available for this. Once it
finishes then reboot the system.
If this does not work then check your system and application event logs
for specific errors and let us know what they show.
