Hey, wondering if anyone knows anything about this:
I have a year old computer running XP Pro w/ 512MB of RAM
and an AMD 1.8XP.
A couple of days ago both my CD-RW and DVD-ROM drive
stopped working. Both are getting power. Going into
device manager both drives are listed w/ a yellow
exclamation point. In MY COMPUTER neither drive is
recognized at all.
I did try to copy drivers from anthoer PC whose drivers I
know to be functioning, but to no effect. I have done just
about every thing I can think of just short of a complete
re-install.
Please help if u can.

I had the same issue after installing SP1a, after I
removed it my drives worked correctly
