Corrupt PST Backup

Got a tough situation. Did a complete backup of my computer prior to a
reinstall of WinXP. All data was burned to a DVD-RW disc (used Creator
Classic, not Drag to Disc to do the burning).

After reinstalling everything, when I tried to copy the backup PST file from
the DVD to my desktop, I received a CRC error. So I'm unable to copy the
file over.

As a precaution, I created a disc image of the entire DVD and burned the
image to a separate DVD. I can now copy over the PST file to the desktop,
but when I try to use it to restore my addresses, e-mail etc. I receive a
message that this is not a PST file (even though the icon has been changed to
the office/outlook icon).

I've tried the repair/restore tool that comes with Office/Outlook, but it
indicates that it can't repair the file.

Would appreciate any recommendations as to third party utilities or services
to fix this.

Don't try to copy over your outlook.pst file or Import. Open Outlook, use
File, Open on the menu and open the old file that way.
