Does anybody have any experience with recovering corrupt
powerpoint files? A couple of users spent about 9 hours
working on a 54m presentation yesterday and saved it
periodically throughout the day when finally the computer
crashed about 10 mins before it was completed. When they
went back to the last saved version of it, it says there
is an error opening this file. I have tried everything
possible that i know about and still cannot get it open.
I am thinking about buying a file recovery program, but
is there some program that i might be able to try and
import or convert it to and then maybe try converting it
back or something. Thanks for your help

You might try looking in your Temp folder for a file roughly the same size as your corrupt presentation, change the extension from .tmp to ..ppt and see if you can open it in PowerPoint. If that don't work, then you should visit here Recovering a corrupt presentation
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00108.htm

To save yourself from future heartaches, you then need to get this super Sequential Save addin from http://www.mvps.org/skp/seqsave.htm
