One of our users mailbox got totalled. "Special Folders" were moved and renamed, problems with contact folders, etc. etc. Attempted to correct the issues, but since they were special folders I could not move or rename them back. The next attempt was to move the mailbox to another store as we have done that in the past when there was a odd problem. Unforunately, it did not solve the problem. So the next line of defense was to delete the mailbox, create a new one and restore (from backup) all of the actual contents. This sounded easily but let me tell you it was nothing of sorts.
Anyways the mailbox has been recreate and contents have been restored. We have run into another brick wall. Everytime another user responses to an older message to that user; they receive an NDR " The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address." They have to instead, forward the message and type in the users name again the the too field. Looks like some sort of UID issue.
Is there a way to correct this problem? Also curious if anyone seen the original problem where special folders (Contacts, Inbox, etc) were moved and renamed before?
