When installing a RIP image everything goes fine until the
OS is restarted on the client.

Halfway thru the "starting windows" sliding bar I get a
message that "Windows cannot start because the following
file is missing or corrupt- \winnt\system32
\drivers\pci.sys"

What is the best way to fix this problem?

I had to replace the file using the recover console. Look
at Q319136 for details. Kinds of obviates the reason for
using RIS.
