I am in the process of restoring part of my windows xp2000 program. It was attacked by a virus I lost some control over the screen saver timer. Under normal use The timer would work and allow the screen saver to turn on after 15 minutes of idol action. Now the TV is sent to power save mode (now) it goes into sleep mode. I tried to open the screen saver control panel to fix this glitch and I find that I don't have any access to the switches Their settings are gone (You can see them but they are not lit up for use). Can I restore this glitch or do I have to save all of my programs to a CD and reinstall my xp2000 from the very beginning and upgrade upgrade upgrade from that point on?

You could initially try the system file checker, see windows help
But this might depend on whether you have an upto date winxp cd
If it comes to the worst you can also do a repair installation of winxp

PS There is no win xp2000, unless you mean winxp sp2
Niether can you save programs to cd, unless you have the origonal
installation files
I assume your PC has now been thoroughly scanned for Virus & malaware
