I know that correct way to install applications on Terminal Server is
to put the TS in "install" mode, and then after when installation is
finished put it back in "execute" mode. That can be done automatically
through "Add/Remove Programs" or through command prompt. OK.
Now, what about programs that reboot computer as part of their
install procedure? The example is IE6 SP1. What is the good way
to install IE6 SP1 to Terminal Server?

I can put the TS in install mode, start IE6 SP1 install and before it
wants
to restart put it in execute mode, but IE6 SP1 is still not installed
completly at this point, it has to reboot and continue the
installation...

I can also put the TS in install mode, start installation of IE6 SP1,
let it reboot and then put the TS in "execute mode" but that does not
have sense since
TS will revert to "execute mode" after reboot (right?). So it will be
in
"execute" mode and still finishing install of IE6 SP1 and thats what
I'm
afraid of. I wish I had installed IE6 SP1 before making this server
a TS, but I havent :-(

I've never had a problem with IE installs and allow the installation routine
to reboot the server, which as you noted does put the server back in execute
mode.

Ok, thank you Patrick then I'll install IE6 SP1
like that, putting Terminal Server in install mode,
let installation reboot the server and execute installation
in execute mode.
