Many video cards don't support the highest resolutions of the newer
monitors.
Try a resolution that is in line with the 1680/1050 one, which is an odd
resolution.
Your new monitor is a 1.6:1 ratio, the old was 1.3:1, so pick something
that gives a 1.6:1 ratio.
