I have windows 2000 and recently something happened where
all application icons on my desktop are covered over with
another icon. I can see parts of the correct icons
underneath. I have tried changing the icons under
properties, but this does not change things. Any
suggestions?

Hi, Randy.

Can you just drag'n'drop the icons to get the arrangement you want? Or,
right-click on your Desktop, click Arrange Icons By, and choose your poison?
