Without having SMS in our environment is there a way to push the installation
of defender to all my corporate pc's? I know doing it via GP is an
option....are there any others? Can it be deployed via WSUS3?

Thanks,
Robert

Hello Robert,

For enterprise use, the Microsoft product incorporating antispyware
functionality and designed for automated deployment and management is
Microsoft Forefront Client Security.

I would recommend that you have a look here
http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/c...y/default.mspx

I hope this post is helpful, let us know how it works ºut.

As Engel mentions, Forefront is far preferable in a managed environment.
Windows Defender definitions can be distributed via WSUS, but I don't know
the answer about the initial install. Windows Defender has only very
limited policy-based control--basically on or off. See the .ADM file which
is installed with the product. You'd likely get a better answer in a WSUS
or server related group, about the installation.
