How do you copyright images in Frontpage; that is make the
images non-copyable, etc.? I am using PhotoGallery--can
the copy prevention scheme be used within a Photogallery.
If you inow, is the copyright scheme applied to the site
,html file or to each individual image?

Thanks

Hi Karl,

I'm afraid you don't understand Copyright. The Copyright laws were created
because things CAN be copied. If things could not be copied, there would be
no need for Copyright laws.

Computers are EXCELLENT at copying. Perfect, in fact.

So, if you don't want your images copied, don't publish (make public) them.
On the other hand, if you want to copyright them, you will have some remedy
if you can find the ones that copy them.

ANYONE that tells you that you can prevent them from being copied is not
only wrong, but doing you a great disservice.

You CAN watermark your images with one or more of the watermarking software
packages available, but that will only help you trace them down. You will
still have to prosecute.

The one where you send the photo to US copyright office along with a few bucks to copyright it?

You can "batch copyright" photos....check with the US copyright office for details. Are your photos are really worth spending all that money on?

Karl -

If you are talking about keeping someone from copying your image, the only
sure way is to not put it on the site.

Beyond that, there are different ways you can use to help protect it (such
as disabling mouse right clicks), but, if someone really wants the image
all they have to do is grab a screen capture and they have it.
