Why would Nortons Ghost be different to backing up all WinXP home settings
and restoring them to other computers? I have no knowledge of Nortons Ghost
programme

Ghost basically photo-copies an "image" of your hard
drive. It doesnt care whats on it or even if it's correct
it's a carbon copy of EXACTLY whats on your hard drive.
You cannot get that kind of detail with backing up
everything. The other system that you try to restore this
backup to wont let you. The file system has built in
protections and it wont be a "clone". Ghost by passes
these security settings and makes a exact duplicate.
