Is it possible to copy profiles between two networked computers running WinXP
with Remote Desktop? I can't image (we use RIS) the computers because
they're two different Dell models entirely. I can't use File and Settings
Transfer Wizard because the primary account (network policy driven) I want to
copy is stripped of desktop icons, Program Menu and administrative access
points (ie, 'Internet Explorer' Quicklaunch Icon). I've copied profiles
before on a local computer by using the User Profiles option in System
Properties. But how do you transfer a profile from Documents & Settings on
Computer A onto Computer B on a network or standalone for that matter based
on the variables I've mentioned above? Our Network Admin will not ease
restrictions on the account. Eventhough I've setup Remoting, I can't Remote
Desktop into that account and set these tasks up can I?

Look into the User State Migration tool and/or the FAST wizard (Files and
Settings Transfer Wizard).

If the network admin won't ease the restrictions, and you have the
right to access the data, then you'll need to speak with the network
admin's boss.
