I am getting the message "windows has encountered a problem, what would you
like windows to do" when I try to copy photos to a cd or dvd. The cd and
dvd's are new and empty. I tried opening the cd window and copying and
pasting. I tried opening the photo and clicking send to. I tried just one
photo at a time. What is happening here? Thank you. I have copied cd's
with success multiple times.

What "software" are you using to copy to DVD? XP does not write to
most DVD media directly (DVD-RAM media is the exception.)
