Under Win-2000_SP4 whenever I copy files larger than 20-megs they get
corrupted. This, when copying between my (2) physical harddrives. No
problem copying large files between logical partitions on each drive
itself. {drives: IBM 30-gig deskstar & Western Digital 80-gig HD}

I dual-boot and have access to WinXP (on another logical partition) --
no file corruption problem using XP! Same hardware.

It seems I have a driver problem of some sort with W2k, not a BIOS
problem.

Asus motherboard with KT-133 chipset. Onboard Promise ATA-100
controller, to which both IDE drives are slotted as Master(s)
primary/secondary slots.

[ tried someone's PC/VIA Latency Patch - did not work ]

Found a fix for my problem. Promise has this new driver Version 20
Build 11 [file name: U100_v200_b11.zip] -- found it on some overseas
web page. Installed INF file thru Control Panel Add New Hardware wizard.
