I am having problems trying to copy my home DVD. When I
try copy the files on my hard-drive from my DVD I receive
the following error message: Cannot Copy VTS_01_03: Data
Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check) copy DVD.

I am using Nero 6.

This is happening on several DVD’s but not all. The discs
are dust free.

Can any one help me please?

Thank You.

Not sure really, but I'm sure this one can be Logic'ed
out!

1. You are using Nero 6 to burn or RIP an image to your
hard-drive - correct?
2. If so, are you setting the speeds too high. I find
with most operations like that setting rip or burn
operations at lower speeds definately helps.
3. Are your Nero Settings Correct for the operation you
are trying to perform? ie: are you ripping an ISO from
the DISC?
4. Does your DVD drive support ripping and burning (ie:
is it a DVD writer?) (I am not trying to sound
pedantic - it's a genuine question - one that needs to
be asked? (does your DVD drive support multiple
formats ie: DVD+ DVD- DVD-R DVD+R DVD+RW DVD-RW etc
etc?)
5. If you are just trying to copy the files over onto
your hard drive like you would from a normal CD that
may be pointing to your problem!

!!((RIP for DUP))!!

Check these things out and then post your findings!

Two thoughts. First, you DVD ROM drive my be unable to actually rip the
DVD due to either copy protection or just read problems. Second, a
DVD-ROM usually contains more information than a standard DVD-R as they
are usually dual layer. This requires that you have a Dual Layer DVD
Burner in order to copy these movies.

I suggest trying DVDShrink and DVD Decryptor as those are two excellent
programs as well. See if you have better luck with those.

Also, did these errors occur when ripping or when writing?
