Trying to copy the GPO that was built on one computer to another. My
present understanding is that you just need to copy the GroupPolicy folder
under the WinNT folder. However, after accomplish that, the GPO isn't
taking affect. When I looked at the MMC, it didn't appear that any of the
policies were copied over save for the User Configuration. TIA

Wha tyou need is the handy backup command in the GPMC tool from MS. Grab a
free copy at download.microsoft.com
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...b04f-50ce-42c7
-a401-30be1ef647ea&DisplayLang=en), and, once you install it, you'll find a
Backup option in the new MMC.

Thanks for your reply, I should have been more explicit. The computers are
Win2k and that GPMC only works on XP. We do not have AD running and we're
basically trying to copy a GPO that's been tweaked on one machine onto
several others.

I did a search and was able to see that a solution of sorts was given. It
went on to explain that copying the entire GPO folder would result in the
policies being copied. However, when I tried to do that, nothing except the
user configuration was transferred.
