copying files over a flaky wireless network

My wireless network isn't always as realiable as I'd like to be. ie.
I'll occasionally be disconnected from it. Now, I'll usually reconnect
to it rather quickly, but I, never-the-less, fear that this "flakyness"
could intefere with my ability to copy a large amount of files. What
happens when, in the middle of the copy, the wireless connection
disconnects?

My question is... is there a way I could copy files such that whenever
a file is unable to be copied, it'd retry over and over again, until it
did work?

It'd be nice if this copy method could also distinguish between copy
errors that are due to unreadable files and copy errors due to
(temporarily) unaccessable destinations, but I'd be willing to settle
for not having that ability
