Copying and Pasting Email Messages in Outlook 2003

When I copy and paste from one email message to a different email
message, the font color turns yellow. I confirmed the default font
color is black and also ran repair on the Outlook installation with no
luck. The issue reappears. Anyone have any suggestions?
