I've bought a OEM XP pro CD with some hardware from Newegg and going to
install it fresh into a new HD But have a question....?

I'd like to backup my documents & setting from w2k over to XP, has anyone
tried to backup and restore them or just copy them like this...?? I guess my
question is --- will this work?

You can look at the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (FAST) as one way,
though I wouldn't rely on it as the only backup means. Certainly do not get
rid of the source files until they are moved to the new system. Here is an
