I now mainly change the remote site pages with fp2003. Now I have sites with
heaps of "unmatched " files. Can I delete the whole site on my computer, and
then back it up from the remote site? Is this the easiest way to overwrite
all the changes (the remote site works fine) Thanks for your help.

If you are way out of sync, probably the cleanest way is to open your pc based disc based site and right click the root to delete it
(do not delete just it in Windows Explorer),
then publish your remote (online) site to a new site location on your PC

Could the unmatched files be due to your multiple sites problem? If so, fix
that first.

Use FrontPage to delete the local web, or delete the web contents - not the
_private or images folders, delete the contents of these.
Then open the online web in FrontPage and Publish to the folder just
cleared.

I wouldn't delete the local copy first, I'd republish the remote to the local machine under a new web name...then after you're sure you have a good local copy then delete the old copy.

Yes, publish it down from the remote to your local machine.
