When I select a group of files to copy (or to write to CD) all are
copied, in the same order except that the last is now first, first is
now second, second is now third, etc. Any reason for this? How to
overcome it?

On your CD drive try View > Arrange icons by ... and uncheck 'Auto
arrange'.

No matter how I view them on the computer, when I put the CD in my
player out at the shop it plays the last one first.

Laugh, and the world ignores you.
Crying doesn't help either.

Hello again, Gerald. I've been away for awhile.

You probably have to number your files before burning them to a CD. If they
are Media Player files (mpegs), you can also create a playlist for them in
Media Player.
