In "my pictures" when I click on "copy to cd" the cd writing wizard stars and
tells me the process takes about 8-9 minutes. Near the end the last 2-3
minutes takes closer to 5 and then it kicks out my cd and tells me there is
an "error in the writing process". I've tried numerous cd and cd-rws. I
copied some photos once before so I know my drive is enabled. Am I missing
something or do I have a bug? Thanks for any help.

Depends on the application your using to burn the cd, since you didn't tell
us what it is, I couldn't begin to comment.

Thanks for your help. Using your response and the one from "Cavalier" I was
able to copy some photos. I slowed the speed to 32X. I had been using
ultra-speed cd-rws also. This time used a plain cd-r. I tried using a cd-rw
afterwards and it does not work. I have Windows XP for home, version 5.1,
with service pack 2. Does this older system not care for the cd-rw or is it
likely I got a bad batch. Also when using the cd-rw the drive itself does
not fire up and do its thing. The light just flashes. Thanks again.

I used your response and "sgopus" and it worked. Please read my reply to
"sgopus" and see what you think. Thanks again for your help. It was greatly
appreciated.
