copy/pasting data into a worksheet and then sorting worksheet

Hi, I am an extreme novice with just enough info to be dangerous. I have
learned how to do a pivot table to do a calculation that I needed. But I
needed to then add the calculated answers back into my spreadsheet. Once I
copy/pasted the column of info, I could no longer sort the worksheet.

Help!
