copy/paste doesn't work on inbox messages

Recently, the ability to highlie and copy parts of inbox messages stopped
working. If I hit reply, it works well. When the message is read from the
inbox, the cursor is in the shape of a hand as opposed to the normal cursor
line. I am using Outlook 2007.
