I want to copy Outlook folders and keep the custom fields I have set up.
Currently the fields (column headings) revert to a default setting in the new
folder and I have to reset them each time. (Tedious!)

Copy the .pst file, put it in a non-default location (My Documents works well as it tends toget backed up) and in Outlook, open the file using File->Open->Outlook Data File. You will find all of your data, fields, associations, etc. intact.

unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, TedMD asked:

Thanks Milly.

I'll now refine my question so that it is clearer. I am managing a number of
tasks in Public Folders using a custom form and need to view particular
fields for each post.

When I copy and paste an Outlook folder within Outlook, it retains all the
attributes of the original, including the contents. However, it does not
retain any custom fields I have set up to view using the field chooser, and I
have to set these up again.

Is there a way to amend default fields or retain these custom settings so
that I don't have to constantly select items for field chooser?

I'd be grateful for a solution to this one!

Kind regards,

Ted

Can you tell us exactly what steps you're using to copy the folder? I've never seen a full copy that didn't include fields defined in the folder.
