I am using Windows 2000 Professional and I am trying to
copy a file from one drive to another. I keep getting
an "There is not enough space on the disk." message, even
though there is 25 gig available!! The file I am trying
to copy is 5.7 gig (it is a backup file), but that
shouldn't matter, right?

I have tried dragging and dropping, using the CMD shell
to 'Copy' and 'Xcopy'. Nothing works.

Does anybody have any ideas on this?????

Thanks!

In the way of further info, the source drive is NTFS,
destination is FAT32.

Are you trying to copy it onto a FAT32 volume? If so, you are exceeding the
FAT32 filesize limit, which is 2 GB.

Thank you for providing the answer to the problem. As I mentioned in my
other reply, FAT32 filesize is limited to 2 GB. You'll have to make the
destination volume NTFS also.
