Can it be done; to copy an OS to another partition? I have a computer
with two hard drives, on each one I have an OS, I have to discard the
old HD (failure imminent message) so I was wondering if I can use one OS
to copy the OS from the old HD to the new one without the use of an
application (no cloning or imaging, but copying) can It be done, I've
noticed that the C:\drive has "Copy" in the contextual menu and
obviously it must be there for a purpose, If it can be done would I have
to increase the paging file size?

tanx for your time.

Won't work.
Something will be "in use".
Look on the hard drive manufacturer's web site for a utility to move to your
new hard drive.

This very subject was discussed in this newsgroup in great detail
only four days ago under the subject line "Duplicating OS from
one HD to another".

.. . . and also two hours before your post in "Migrating XP Home to
New Harddrive". It pays to examine existing posts!

i think should be no problem ...
use norton ghost to clone the image and store it somewhere, then clone the
image onto your destination HDD ...
