How to Copy large Personal Folder from Outlook to External Drive

I am a Home user running Vista Premium. I have a very large Personal Folder
in Outlook (35,000 emails) which I would like to save onto an external drive.
There are many duplications in the text, Is there away to de-duplicate as
well? I have Outlook 2002 (10.6838.6845) SP3

35,000 messages isn't all that big. When you say "save it to an external
drive", oin what format do you want it saved? How will you access it again on
