Hi, I was wonering if it was possible to "add" buttons to the menu bar in
file explorer in Vista ?, I would really like to add the "copy to folder" and
"move to Folder" buttons, also the "copy", "paste" and "delete" buttons to
the menu as they were always handy in XP. So I guess my questiuon is, can I
add them to the menu bar at the top next to the "organise" ,"views" buttons
?? or can I edit the right click menu and add them there ?? either would do
fine, thanks for looking at this question, cheers Pete.

It is very easy possible and it is working, I use this all time in vista
retail :

open regedit ( as Administrator )

navigate to

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

you need to right click on ContextMenuHandlers and create a new key.

name this Key

{C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}

this is "Copy to folder"

If you want also right click to show "move to folder" you will need to
create a second key in the same way :

{C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}

that's it

try - it works instantly after you created these subkeys.

here step by step for XP ( exactly the same and it works on vista 100% ) :

See a later post on this by Sascha Jazbec. He posted the way to get it on
the right click menu. I missed that part of your post, I was replying
reference getting the commands on the command bar (where Organize, View, etc
are located. Alls well that ends well, eh?
