I am installing Windows XP Home Edition upgrade on to my
home desktop. While copy the files from the CD during
the initial installation process I receieved an Copy File
error message that it could not copy GDIPLUS.CAT to
C:\$win_NT$.~LS\i386\asms\1000
\MSFT\Windows\GDIPLUS\GDIPLUSCAT. I have
attempted "Retry" several times with no success or change
in the error message.

Can I skip the copying of this particular file? By doing
so will it cause problems with other parts of the program?

Allen, try moving all the files off the CD to the Hard Drive and proceed
from there. Also, try cleaning the disk.
