I have purchased a new PC and want to use Windows Mail. On old PC used

PC?
Thanks

Your best bet is to keep using outlook 2007 and not switch to Windows
mail in Vista. Windows Mail is out dated and discontinued. If u can
reinstall outlook 07 on the new system you would be able to easly
transfer the .pst file from the older pc to the newer one. But if u
can't install it windows mail should still accept the .pst file from
outlook 07.

Outlook must be installed, configured with the data file, on the same PC as
Mail, before in Mail you can import from 'exchange'

Thanks for playing, but you're wrong. Windows Mail is not obsolete in that
every Vista installation comes with it. You're also wrong in that Windows
Mail cannot import an Outlook PST.

Thanks, but I cannot import messages from PST file. When I use 'import'
function in Mail and try to load I get the message 'Cannot import messages
from this MAPI client. MAPI not installed on this computer...'

Correct. That's what I said. You cannot import a PST file into Windows Mail.

Sorry - I did not read your message correctly. Using double negatives
confused me which is not difficult!
Is there anyway to get email messages from Outlook into Mail - any
conversion or step process to do this? Seems that it should be possible
between Microsoft products......

As long as Outlook and Windows Mail are both properly configured and operation
on the same machine, you can import messages into Windows Mail directly from
Outlook.
